meet Sara Zegarelli

The recipes you’ll find here are inspired by dishes I had growing up, countries I’ve visited, close family and friends and my own sense of curiosity and passion for cooking. I try to always cook a complete meal from scratch, ensuring everything is homemade and unprocessed. I believe in controlling what goes in your food and body, versus it being a mystery. I am also an advocate for cooking with whole foods as much as you can. I hope to show you the simplicity and fun in cooking dishes that may appear to be challenging and encourage you to try something new!

I grew up in a house where my mom was always cooking and baking something fun. I would be drawn to the kitchen and observant to whatever it is she was doing. Some of my fondest childhood memories were when my mom would let me add sugar to a cake batter, or help her prepare dinner. Any little task was so rewarding. My passion for cooking and for food definitely came from her. She always experiments with recipes and really taught me to use my own judgement when it came to both cooking and baking.

I spent my whole life living in the Greater Montreal area where there is a vibrant restaurant scene and overall love for food. My husband is the one who pushed me to start this blog to share my recipes and that’s how Amore di Limone (Italian for Lemon Love and inspired by our honeymoon to the Amalfi Coast) was born. This whole process has been quite exciting. My hope is to spark your passion for cooking, love for good food and for you to have fun!
