Pesto Sauce (Classic Basil Pesto)

This classic basil pesto sauce is made with fresh basil, pine nuts, garlic, Parmesan, and olive oil. It’s a simple, traditional pesto that comes together quickly and can be used for pasta, sandwiches, pizza, or vegetables.

Pesto sauce is hands down one of my favourite things in the world! Here’s my recipe:

Pesto Sauce (Classic Basil Pesto)

Ingredients
  

  • 3 loose cups basil
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan
  • 2 tbsps grated Romano
  • 1/2 cup EVOO
  • salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a food processor, toss the basil and pine nuts and run on high.
  • Stop the machine and add a few punches of salt, cheeses and garlic and run on high.
  • While the machine is still running, slowly add the EVOO.
  • Taste it for salt and enjoy!
